Final details being prepared for the first cattle export to Israel

Between the end of the month and early May, the first ship with live cattle bound for the Israeli market will set sail, opening a new trade route for live cattle exports. This will add to an already dynamic and fluid market, driven by strong demand from Turkey.

The company Herbal Paradise will carry out the first shipment to Israel, a vessel that will load between 3,000 and 4,000 head of cattle, mostly light steers weighing 250-300 kg, but also including male and female calves. For the female calves, requirements specify they must be under 8 months old and weigh no more than 200 kg upon arrival. A 30-day quarantine is mandatory.

Agro Búsqueda also reported that the company Gladenur is working on a second, larger shipment to Israel, scheduled later.

Another ship is expected to depart for Turkey in about a month, continuing a strong trade flow that is likely to remain active in the coming months.

In the first quarter of the year, live cattle exports reached 58,607 head, of which 43,426 (74%) went to Turkey — more than double the volume shipped during the same period last year. In the 12 months through March, total exports reached 361,000 head.
