Brazil improves its access to Malaysia for beef and poultry
The Brazilian government reported that during a visit by the Minister of Agriculture of Malaysia’s Sarawak State to Brazil, an International Health Certificate (CSI) model for poultry and beef exports was agreed upon.
In 2024, Brazil exported more than 30,000 tons of poultry and beef to Malaysia, valued at US$67 million. Sarawak State, with a population of 2.5 million, is located on an island separate from mainland Malaysia and sets specific food import requirements. With Sarawak’s acceptance of the international health certificate, exports to Malaysia are expected to grow significantly in the coming years.
