Victoria meatpacker authorized to export to Taiwan

Taiwan’s government reported that two Paraguayan meatpackers have been authorized, as of February 18, to export pork and beef. Frigorífico Pirayú was cleared to export pork, while Frigorífico Victoria will export beef.

The authorization for two Paraguayan facilities to export pork and beef to Taiwan was officially granted by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Agency (APHIA), according to a statement from the National Animal Health and Quality Service (Senacsa).

Taiwan is Paraguay’s second-largest beef market, absorbing about 12% of its total beef exports. It is also the top destination for Paraguayan pork. In January, 3,569 tons of beef were shipped to Taiwan (+76%) at an average price of US$5,806 per ton.
