US import market is somewhat slower

New business with the US has been “a bit quieter” over the past week, although a trader noted this is “normal,” as importers typically come to the market in set windows —“buy,” “stock up,” and then return for more deals. “That’s how this market works; in 10 or 15 days, they’ll be back,” the source said. He added that much of the central US has been hit by extreme cold in recent days, as low as –25°C. “That always affects consumption,” he noted.
