Less than 200,000 tons of beef were shipped to China in January
January is typically a month of reduced beef shipments to China because the product does not arrive in time for Chinese New Year festivities, which represent a peak demand period. The first month of 2025 was no exception. It is estimated that around 195,000 tons of beef were shipped to China in January, dropping below the 200,000-ton mark for the first time since last June and marking the lowest volume exported to that country since April 2023, when the most recent suspension of sales from Brazil took place.
