Exports in January fell by 90 thousand tons from the October peak

In January, Brazil exported 180.5 thousand tons of beef at an average FOB value of US$/t 5,029, the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) reported. The volume fell for the third consecutive month and was 90 thousand tons lower than the record set in October 2024.

The average export value increased by 1.5% from the previous month and surpassed US$ 5,000 for the first time since June 2023.

In the last week of January and the first week of February, the average export value did not remain above US$/t 5,000. In the first five business days of February, Brazil exported 47,386 tons of fresh beef at an average value of US$/t 4,960. The daily shipment pace rose to 9,477 tons in that week, about 2 thousand tons more than in the last week of January.
