Government postpones electronic traceability until 2026

The individual electronic traceability system for cattle, which was to begin on March 1, 2025, is being delayed until 2026, according to the National Secretariat of Agriculture. Authorities indicated that the winning bidder for the devices, Datamars, stated it would be unable to deliver them by the scheduled date. Apparently, it is still being decided whether the same supplier will be used or if the bidding process will start over.
