Finished cattle prices began February with downward corrections in reais
The price of slaughter-ready cattle in Brazil broke the upward trend that had prevailed through much of January. The average price of finished cattle dropped by R$2 per arroba to R$308 across the main exporting states. However, this was more than offset by a new appreciation of the exchange rate. Over the past week, the real gained 1.5% against the U.S. dollar and is trading 6.8% stronger than at the end of last year.
