Lower prices for finished cattle
Negotiations in the cattle market moved downward over the past week. The industry managed to secure cattle at list prices of US$3.50 for regular males and US$3.30 for fat cows. However, it became difficult yesterday to find offerings at those prices, and some plants went about 5 cents higher to fill their slaughter schedules for next week, an operator told WBR.
