Finished steers break the US$ 4 per kg barrier
A run of rainfall has left large areas of pasture under water in the Central and Upper Chaco, pushing cattle prices higher. Finished steers have crossed the psychological threshold of US$ 4.00 per kg carcass weight. A broker told WBR that list prices stand at US$ 4.00 per kg for regular steers, with occasional volume deals closing at up to US$ 4.20, while traceable steers start at US$ 4.05. Fat cows are quoted in a range of US$ 3.70–3.80 per kg carcass weight.
