One of the world’s largest livestock carriers sets sail for Turkey

The Panamanian-flagged vessel Mawashi Express, one of the biggest livestock ships in the world, loaded 20 600 head of cattle in Montevideo bound for Turkey. Operated by Olkany, the shipment was sold at an average FOB price of US$ 878.5 per head and consists mainly of entire male calves and young steers. As expected, live-cattle exports are gathering pace now that the very large 2024 calf crop is becoming available.
